OYE! - Organized Youth for Empowerment
MISSION

OYE!'s mission is to create a space where young people can express their thoughts and opinions around relevant issues concerning their lives and their environment, in a safe, healthy and creative manner.

ABOUT OYE!

OYE! means HEY! in Spanish.

Our goal is to encourage our youth to make “healthy choices” by exposing them to new forms of art and expressive creations. At the same time we provide prevention and health education though pamphlets, brochures, talks, etc.

Through this space our youth will share with our community their visions, dreams and fears, as well as opening a venue for other youth to feel inspired, create and find
their voice.

Call us to find out about our classes, projects
and workshops!!!!

STRUCTURE

Through open discussion and brainstorming, youth explore issues concerning their lives and environment, and create diverse projects to be presented to the public in different venues such as schools, parks, cafes and local events. It is through this effort that we intend to speak aloud, educate our community, and make a difference.

Some of OYE's sponsored guest artists:

  • Molina Soleil & Aju, from Denver.
  • Concrete Couch, from Manitou Springs.
  • Wise Fool New Mexico, from Santa Fe.
  • Off the Leash Video, from New York!

We want to collaborate with local artists and
people from our community.
